Recruiting during the war

During the first month of the war, it was such a strange feeling to write to people & offer jobs. Because half of the answers were “there is no Internet in the basement” or “they are bombing me there, it is very inconvenient to connect to calls”, and the second one “I serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine”.

On the one hand, suddenly appeared a lot of people, since the war have made huge adjustments to the IT business as well, many companies have lost customers & laid off their employees, put them on a bench, or the company is closed altogether.

But on the other hand, I can’t say that it has become easier to search. There are a lot of people on the market, but candidates still want more money than usual, because there are families, wives, and parents who are out of work. So, for example, one developer needs to support 5–6 family members.

And there is also a pleasant side — interviews began to be more meaningful. The first thing you ask a candidate — if he is safe!
